Scam Alert: Attention "Lottery" Winners!
Recently consumers have been contacted by someone claiming to represent an international lottery. Consumers are given a cheque that appears to be drawn on a Custom House account. They are told to deposit the cheque and send the funds on to pay for lottery taxes or fees.
These cheques are fraudulent.
Custom House is not affiliated with any lottery organizations. Should you receive such an offer, please contact local law enforcement.
Remember, legitimate lotteries do not require prepayment of taxes or fees.
